The AWP Conference is an annual destination for writers, teachers, students, editors, and publishers. Attendees join the conference for insightful dialogue, networking, and unrivaled access to the organizations and opinion-makers that matter most in contemporary literature. The conference features presenters and readings, panels, and craft lectures.

Visual Problem

Create a one-day event, sponsored by the Association of Writer’s and Writer’s Programs (AWP) and create a brand identity based off the chosen theme. Include a conference overview poster, three session posters, a program booklet, event badges, swag, and wayfinding signage.

Solution

Achieving Happiness: a conference with the goal of clearing up any misconceptions about what causes happiness, and the hope that attendees will leave with new goals and the ability to form new habits to start changing their life for the better, and live a more satisfying life. The branding of the conference uses turquoise to represent calm and a balancing tan to avoid harsh white. The flowers represent growth and new beginnings.
